Archive for December, 2025

Our Year End Message: 2025 featured attempts by a vocal minority based out of Fort Langley with an old axe to grind (not the majority in Fort Langley by any means) to try to undercut the work of a hard-working council majority. Our Council faced the challenge of correcting the actions of the Jack Froese DARK DECADE of inaction – in short, approving an endless number of developments with NO corresponding approvals for infrastructure! The need for Roads, recreation facilities, fire halls and community center plans coupled with appropriate Community Amenity Contributions and annually upgraded Development Cost Charges forcing development to ultimately pay for those infrastructure improvements were badly needed and adopted.

Our www.langleywatchdog.comteam spoke out against the ridiculous holding of a by-election (our June 2nd, 2025 post explains by rationale for our opinion) at a cost to taxpayers of close to $500,000, with no identifiable benefit. The net result of going without a by-election would be going without one councillor for about a year. Ultimately, all of this did not change a thing on council, except for the waste of our tax dollars.

This year we are planning numerous posts dealing specifically with Township of Langley issues that should be of interest to ALL taxpayers. Through this BLOG we are attempting to put forward the truth to counter an ever-increasing volume of FAKE NEWS that seems to have an ever-increasing presence through Social-Media! Ideas to look forward to?

The truth about the issues between the Township of Langley and Langley City?

The truth about Highway #1 widening that our Provincial Government woul;d prefer you did not know?

The real cost of SkyTrain to Langley City made worse by the new Provincial Government housing regulations and new / no parking requirements?

The critical need for a Willoughby Community Center / Pool roadblocked by our School Boards political intransigence (nothing more) in the need for a common sense and safety move of the Willoughby Elementary School over to Township owned property next to the Tennis Center?

Township of Langley Municipal Election News – Regular features on news leading up to and during Township Municipal Election 2026 being held October 17th, 2026. Stay tuned!

On behalf of our editorial team at Langley Watchdog we wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year in 2026!
